Everything’s going digital, so why not our business cards? Wendy Stunt, founder at Go DigiCard, saw a flaw in the way we’re adapting to networking. How many of you ever look at the paper printed business cards you receive? Or how many of you even have some printed? Well, Wendy Stunt solved that with her digital business cards, instantly shareable and interactive, so you get the most out of every business interaction.
What attracted you to the industry?
This is my fourth business and I found that, when networking for my other businesses, it was difficult and time consuming to follow up with everyone who attended the event. Hence the solution of Go DigiCard was born! We make it super easy to share your business on a single platform with your potential customers.
How did you get to where you are today?
I never give up. I know about failure and have made mistakes. I am not good at everything, so I always ask for help when I need it. I stay positive and keep good energy and this attracts success.
A passion of mine has always been helping others and connecting people. My product does exactly that, so I am very fortunate to do what I love everyday.
What’s the most difficult part of what you do?
When you are starting a new business, it’s the time away from my family that is the most difficult thing for me. As all entrepreneurs will know, we work 24/7. There is very little down time at the beginning.
What’s the best piece of style advice you’ve ever received?
Cut down your closet by 25 percent by asking yourself this one question: ‘If I were shopping right this second, would I buy this?’ If the answer’s no, out it goes!
I am a big fan of Amy Huberman. She is stylish, glamourous, and I admire her, as she is still so down to earth and full of fun.
Who is your business icon and why?
Geraldine Swarbrigg! I listened to Geraldine at a recent event and she is an amazing role model for women in business. She is an incredible leader and has worked tirelessly bringing brand after brand, from Jack & Jones to Inglot, to Ireland! I was left inspired. Never give up on your dream.
What plans do you have for your business over the next 12 months?
Our plan is to expand throughout Ireland and Europe and take on more staff.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
We would like to have built our business to be a recognised brand and product worldwide.
How do you stay motivated?
My customers’ stories of how their DigiCard helped them to connect with people they wouldn’t have otherwise, is what keeps me motivated. Sharing peoples details instantly and seeing people connect is what motivates me.
