Job title: Airfreight Operator

Reports to: Airfreight Manager

Overall Job Purpose:

To ensure that the Airfreight service delivered, meets and exceeds customer expectations, is in accordance with established service levels/SOPS’s and is within Revenue & Cost parameters. Ensure that all associated administrative requirements are complete and accurate. Proactively support and contribute to the achievement of Departmental, Branch and Company goals and objectives

Key Relationships:                                                                     

Internal:

Will need to develop a good working relationship with all personnel in Cork primarily and other Schenker offices in Ireland

External:

  • Customers
  • Airlines/Agents and other service providers
  • Schenker Offices Abroad
  • Customs & Excise and other Government agencies.
  • Department of Transport

Description of all key tasks and responsibilities including decision making authority (as agreed with Line Manager)

    Ensure all customer queries are resolved in a timely manner        

    Determine Which Airline/s will be utilised on a daily basis thus maximising GP on all        files

    Update all Customer reports as required and ensure they are received on time

    Process all shipments correctly and cost /Invoice on a daily basis 

    Ensure Health and Safety, Hygiene procedures are adhered to 

    All C.O.D’s are collected before shipping any shipments concerned 

Qualifications required   (formal Education, Professional qualifications, specific industry accreditations)

Essential

Min of 2 years experience within the industry

Hold Full clean driver’s licence

Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to work under pressure and be customer orientated

Desirable

Ability to work under pressure

Flexibility

Experience required ( incl. years required & preferred background)

Essential:

Min of 2 years’ experience within the industry and someexperience in a similar position would be of assistance

Desirable:

Air Import Experience

AEP Knowledge on customs procedures/requirements

Accounting experience a plus

Good organisation skills and knowledge of business a plus.

Be flexible on working hours and willing to go that bit extra to ensure all customers are satisfied with performance and maintained on a daily basis

Good customer Focus and ensure high standard maintained when dealing with any issue that may arise with any customer/s

Key Outputs / Performance Measures

Costing of files to be accurate and precise on a daily basis

Number of files processed on daily basis to be on line with all other personnel within the Dept (i.e. if not busy to assist within the Dept)

Timely preparation of reports/answering of queries for all customers
