The Mitchelstown salon is run by Debbie O’Keefe Crinnion, whose wealth of experience and passion for the industry has chartered the success of the business from strength to strength.

Montana Blu, located on 42 Lower Cork St, Mitchelstown, is an intimate but modern independently run salon by Debbie O’Keefe Crinnion. Debbie is a member of the Association of British & International Hairdressing Schools and Irish Hairdressing Federation, so your locks are in very good hands with her and her expertly trained team. Montana Blu uses only the finest Italian products, by professional haircare brand, Kemon. The warm and welcoming team are experts in colour, talented at cuts and creative when it comes to upstyles.

As well as being an established salon, Debbie is also offering up her expert knowledge to budding new hair talent in the Montana Blu Hair Academy. Here, she hosts training courses that allows the learner to attain a diploma in just 12-16 months. These courses run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but the academy does its utmost to tailor to the individual’s needs. Additionally, there is a 17-week barber course and the academy frequently hosts prestigious workshops led by international educators in the barbering world. Indeed, they are one of a few Colleges in Ireland to qualify for the membership to the Association of British and International Hair Colleges and the calibre of their training has seen Montana Blu nominated under the ‘Best Hair Educator’ category in Hi Style’s Hair & Beauty Awards 2019.

Debbie is a proud member of the Ballyhoura Development Programme, a government funded scheme which, amongst other things, delivers four Local Training Initiatives (LTIs) for unemployed people in the area, in partnership with Cork Education & Training Board and with Limerick & Clare Education and Training Board. The LTI programme is designed to provide opportunities for learners who are, or who have been, unable to participate in other mainstream training interventions for personal, social or geographic reasons. Local Training Initiatives are targeted primarily at people under 35 years of age, with no formal qualifications or incomplete secondary level qualifications. LTIs provide vocational training opportunities, learning supports and project-based learning to assist participants to achieve awards on the NFQ and to develop their capacity to progress to further training, education and work.

With a passion to create innovative looks, a stellar team and a commitment to help the community, Montana Blu is certainly a great asset to Cork’s hair salons.
