Seavite is celebrating our seas and the enormous opportunities presented by our coast and ocean as part of the national ‘Oceans of Learning’ campaign launched this summer. Seavite has joined up with a number of organisations across Ireland including the Marine Institute, Bord Bia, BIM, National Maritime College Ireland, Commissioners of Irish Lights, Met Éireann, Marine and Renewable Energy Ireland (MaREI) and Údarás na Gaeltachta to highlight the vital role our ocean plays in all of our lives.
Our ocean is vital to life itself – 50% of the oxygen we breathe comes from the ocean. Our ocean is a resource that we must manage and protect – it supports diverse ecosystems, offers countless benefits to our health and wellbeing, provides us with food, is a gateway for shipping and has a massive influence on our climate and weather.
Launched this summer by the Marine Institute, the ‘Oceans of Learning’ campaign has been designed to remind everyone of the major role the oceans have on our everyday lives. Speaking about the campaign, Dr Katherine Mulrooney said: “We are delighted and honoured at Seavite to be taking part in the Marine Institute’s Ocean of Learning campaign that aims to encourage and educate current and future generations to cherish and protect our seas that bestow on us such immense benefits”.
The Seavite range is packed full nutrients from the sea which they’ve extracted from seaweed so teaming up with ‘Oceans of Learning’ on this campaign was a natural fit. The Seavite range uses these extracts in all their products because of the amazing range benefits seaweed has. Seaweed is clean and chemical free, there is no artificial genetic manipulation or pesticides, fungicides, or fertilizers involved in its life cycle meaning what you are putting on your skin is 100% natural. Seaweed is packed with an unusually high concentration of vitamins and minerals which all pose benefits for the skin. Its full of naturally occurring lipids, polysaccharides, proteins, vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants which deeply moisturize and nourish the skin. These natural nutrients penetrate the skin easily, boosting skin hydration, firmness and nourishment. Seaweed is a natural anti-inflammatory, great for sensitive skin types and skin conditions like eczema and rosacea. It does wonders for aging skin by working to promote tissue regeneration, and increase skin elasticity and micro circulation, making skin more supple, smooth and radiant.
About Seavite
Powered by the sea and proven by science, Seavite is the original organic Irish seaweed-based skin care range. Founded in 1992, Seavite was pioneered by marine scientist, Patrick Mulrooney on his quest to transform his daughters’ severe eczema-prone skin. He believed the ocean was an endless resource of healing and regenerative elements, and every summer in the West of Ireland, witnessed how his girls’ skin was soothed by its therapeutic powers, so he set about bottling its magic. Through combining nutrient-rich Irish seaweed extracts and pure botanicals, Patrick formulated the Seavite range, which fast earned cult beauty status, thanks to its profound powers of skin transformation.
Today, the multi award-winning brand is overseen by Patrick’s daughters, Jane and Katherine, both of whom are medical doctors, with Masters’ in Clinical Dermatology. Like their father, they bring impassioned dedication to helping people feel beautiful in their own skin and they use Seavite products on all patients in their renowned Dublin skin clinic. They believe whatever your age or skin type that everyone can benefit from the soothing and regenerating magic of the Atlantic sea, captured in Seavite and fine-tuned by science.
