The Ivy Wellness & Beauty Salon is a one-stop shop for relaxation, rejuvenation and beautification! Emma Fraher Power is the salon owner and a beauty therapist herself. Having been born into the beauty industry, as her mother was also a salon owner, Emma found her natural talent for the beauty business, and so it is no surprise that she is now the proud and highly successful owner of the award-winning The Ivy Wellness & Beauty Salon!
Recently, the salon won Hi’s Most Stylish Newcomer in Beauty 2018 at our very own The Cointreau Hi Style Awards 2018! This year has seen a boom in the beauty and pampering industry, so this was a hotly contested title but The Ivy won out for their innovative focus on the holistic side of beauty and wellbeing.
“I’m honestly still in shock,” said Emma. “I never expected to win and when I heard my name it was truly amazing. I’m in business one and a half years, so winning any award was going to be a long shot, and to receive the best newcomer in holistics and aesthetic was unreal.
“We cried and screamed and had one too many after calling everyone in my phone book to tell them! My plan now is to reward my clients for their support, to treat my staff for their loyalty and to win more amazing Hi Style Awards!”
Right now, The Ivy is showing off their much-deserved award on their reception desk, though it does tend to wander around a bit. “I’m finding it hard to keep it in one place. I’m even bringing it into the treatment room. I can’t let it go just yet!
“I would wholeheartedly like to thank my Ivy team, Natasha, Grace, Mimi, Leanne and our former-employee, Glenda; my beautiful sisters, who have helped me in and out of the salon; my brother for his business advice; my patient husband and handsome sons for understanding my busy work life; my parents, who have helped raise my boys; my unbelievable, loyal clients, who I consider friends; the Hi Style team for believing in The Ivy, and most importantly, my late brother Mick, who planted this seed, for encouraging me, and for always been at my side, in life and spirit.
“I want to reward my clients, so I’ve decided to donate some money to the Buy a Brick in aid of the Waterford Hospice Centre in my clients’ name. I feel cancer is such a huge issue everywhere, especially Waterford, so hopefully all my clients who voted for me, will appreciate this gesture.”
When opening the salon, Emma envisioned a space filled with positive energy, perfect for relaxation, slowing down, sipping tea from a China cup and chatting. Vision has clearly become reality and The Ivy Wellness & Beauty Salon is a venue for rejuvenation on the outside and the inside.
“My late brother motivates me. He wanted me to open my own business and I achieved this. Any time I’m finding business life any way stressful, I just remember, nothing can be as hard as losing someone I love, and it drives me further. It’s quite a powerful feeling.”
