HYDRATES • PLUMPS • SMOOTHS
Mineral 89, Vichy’s iconic hyaluronic acid booster with 1,000 5 star reviews*, is now available in 30ml, making it the perfect travel companion to help achieve #JetlagProofSkin. The breakthrough formula from Vichy combines the power of Vichy Mineralising Water (89%) with Hyaluronic Acid to strengthen the skin’s barrier function.
A favourite of cabin crew globally, the new 30ml bottle is the perfect in-flight travel partner that smooths, hydrates and plumps the skin even when it is exposed to severe conditions associated with air travel.
The iconic hydration booster is the number one essential hydration step from the brand since it was first launched in Ireland in 2017. A true innovation in skincare, Mineral 89 is a new generation of face moisturiser, comprising of just 11 ingredients which act as a fortifying and hydrating daily skin booster to help maintain skin health.
Vichy Mineral 89 was developed using the exposome, a holistic understanding of the external and internal aggressors which impact the skin’s barrier function.
During long-haul air travel, skin is subjected to periods of intense stress. This includes everything from cabin pressurisation, overlapping time zones and lack of sleep. As a result, the skin’s barrier function becomes unbalanced, altering its internal defence mechanisms. When applied before, during and after a flight, Vichy’s Mineral 89 30ml works to strengthen skin’s barrier function and protect it throughout the flight, whilst hydrating, plumping and smoothing the skin, yielding #JetlagProofSkin.
How Flying Affects the Skin:
Skin retains less water – Lack of sleep derails the skin’s barrier function. As a consequence, skin takes longer to recover from external aggressors, becoming dehydrated more quickly. The skin’s microcirculation also begins to slow, emphasising the appearance of visible signs of fatigue, such as fine lines and dullness.
Circulation slows down – Skin is in its prime when humidity is between 40% and 70% (average outdoor climate). In Ireland between April and August, mid-afternoon humidity levels can typically range between 65% and 70%. Maximum humidity levels in an aircraft hover around 10%. This leads to dry skin and weakened barrier, becoming more fragile, sensitive and easily irritated.
Cell Regeneration is disturbed – Flying between continents can ‘confuse’ the skin’s biological clock, disrupting the regeneration process. The period of time where cellular regeneration takes place is in ‘night mode’. Changing time zones can affect the skin’s ability to regenerate itself, becoming less elastic and less firm.
