Urban Decay and Clarins to launch new foundations this August.
Let’s be real, August can sometimes seem like the Sunday of the calendar months. Particularly as we come into late August, most people have their summer holidays out of the way and everyone is trying to make the most of those summer rays here in Ireland. As we begin to move into a new season, it’s nice to update your beauty wardrobe, just as you would with your clothing. We herald good news on this rainy Wednesday afternoon as two of our favourite makeup brands, Urban Deacy and Clarins have announced they will be launching new foundations next month. It’s something to look forward to if that summertime sadness is starting to kick in!

Urban Decay are totally over “your skin, but better” (aren’t we all?) products and the idea that looking flawless requires covering up who you really are. Meet Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation, Urban Decay’s new real-skin matte, waterproof, and vegan formula that lasts up to 24 hours and rejects the idea of a one-foundation-fits all solution. Let’s be real, no two skin tones are identical; consider all the different shades you’ll even find on a single face. It’s subtle undertones that make each of us unique, so the 50 precisely calibrated shades reflect your skin’s actual colour. It’s time to find your exact match!
Stay Naked feels like a second skin, thanks to a breathable, flexible formula that moves with you. This longwear liquid foundation not only feels better on your skin, it even looks better with its stay-true colour, which minimizes the appearance of pores. Plus, it’s vegan and cruelty-free, containing zero animal-derived by-products or ingredients.
Urban Decay’s innovative, buildable medium-coverage formula reflects the true hue of your skin, down to its mastertone and subtle undertones. The 50 shades break it down by nine shade intensities, three mastertones, and seven undertones. After you select your shade intensity, the girls at Urban Decay help you determine whether you’re a cool, neutral, or warm mastertone. From there, they zone in on your undertones: pink (rosy), green (olive), blue (plum), neutral, yellow (golden), orange (peachy), and red (rich). Find your Naked truth with the online shade finder or ask any in-store Urban Decay Beauty Artist for guidance.
The Build + Blend Sponge gives you everything you need to customize your Stay Naked look. Use the silicone centre to build up the product and max out your coverage, then blend and use with the super-soft sponge. Dampen the sponge and watch it double in size for all-over buffing. Its tapered tip makes those hard-to-reach spots a breeze.

Drumroll, please…With Stay Naked Correcting Concealer, Urban Decay has solved the problem of finding your true skin tone. Enter the mastertone – the key element when it comes to dialling in your exact shade. The brand has got this thing down to an exact science by factoring in shade intensities, mastertones, and undertones to reveal your naked truth (a.k.a. your true skin shade). With an expanded range of 25 vegan shades, there’s enough coverage to go around.
Craving maximum coverage for up to 24 hours, but not the cakey feel? Good news there is 25% more pigment packed into Stay Naked Correcting Concealer in a lightweight, breathable, and waterproof formula with a barely-there feel. With a lineup of 9 shade intensities, 3 mastertones, and 5 undertones, you’ll easily craft your best complexion yet. Plus, you can use it for just about anything—from covering an imperfection to highlighting a cheekbone. The demi-matte, flexible formula is made to last all day and all night so you can get on with yo’ bad self (no touch-ups required).
Even when it comes to just the tip, application is made much more simple with a doe-foot applicator in a curvier-than-ever shape. Just use the flat side for precise, light application or lean into the curve for a heavier dose of product when you need extra coverage. Correct, cover, conceal…repeat!

Discover all of Clarins expertise in new Everlasting Youth Fluid foundation. Developed to the same standards as a skincare product, to offer more than just a make-up result, every drop of this foundation is a perfect concentrate of the very best of Clarins make-up and skin care. After three years of research and 186 trials to create this unique formula with tested and approved effectiveness, Everlasting Youth Fluid is finally here… to restore your complexion’s youthful radiance, immediately and day after day. Experience it now and discover all its secrets.
Clarins Laboratories, the skin care experts, studied the evolution of the skin’s radiance and luminosity with age. They revealed that at age 50, the skin has lost 34% of its capacity to diffuse light. The causes? Skin becomes less smooth, wrinkles deepen with time and collagen fibres lose their density. Consequently, Clarins based its innovation on this fact and selected from nature the ideal key ingredients to create Everlasting Youth Fluid. With its double smoothing and firming skincare action developed by Clarins Laboratories, this foundation restores the skin’s luminosity.
The Everlasting Youth Fluid Foundation delivers a radiant and luminous finish to the skin thanks to two key ingredients, chicory and red jania. Clarins Laboratories were inspired by the properties of leaves and their process of photosynthesis: by capturing the light energy of the sun, they provide the plant with vital energy. Among other plant extracts, Clarins Laboratories selected an extract of chicory leaf for its capacity to help boost collagen synthesis. This contributes to better diffusion of light in the skin, helping to enhance skin luminosity. Thanks to this extract, the skin is firmer, fuller and visible signs of ageing appear reduced. Your skin’s vitality is restored. The complexion appears radiantly youthful.
To compensate for this drop in skin radiance with age, Clarins Laboratories chose an extract of red jania. This extract encourages the removal of dead cells, by keratolytic exfoliation, to improve the reflection of light on the skin surface which is smoothed and radiant, with a finer texture.
Skincare and makeup combined… what more could we ask for? Stay Naked Foundation (€36) and Concealer (€24) will launch nationally on August 1st, whilst Clarins Everlasting Youth Fluid Foundation (€40) is due to be in stores and pharmacies by mid-August.
