Fertility Family, a leading provider of fertility supplements in the UK, has announced the launch of their new product, Inofolic® AlphaPlus.

This innovative new supplement is designed specifically to address the unique challenges faced by women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) who have a Body Mass Index of over 25. The majority of women with PCOS are either overweight or obese, accounting for up to 88% of those suffering from the condition and highlighting the need for additional support in alleviating symptoms.

PCOS affects millions of women worldwide, with the condition found in an estimated 8–13% of reproductive-aged women, causing hormonal imbalances, metabolic dysfunction, and fertility-related challenges.

Insulin resistance is commonly associated with PCOS, affecting 65-80% of women with PCOS regardless of weight. Traditionally, NHS treatment options for PCOS often include weight loss, which can be extremely challenging for those with the condition due to insulin resistance.

Recognising a critical need to support women in this position, Fertility Family has developed Inofolic® AlphaPlus, offering a solution that doesn’t require weight loss prior to initiating an effective treatment plan for managing PCOS symptoms.

At the core of Inofolic® AlphaPlus is a patented formulation that features Myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol in an optimal 40:1 ratio, exclusive to Fertility Family and recommended by doctors for improved PCOS symptom management such as excessive weight gain, acne, and hair growth, while supporting improved fertility. The supplement also contains the daily standard recommended dose of folic acid, which helps to prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida, further supporting women’s reproductive health.

Women who are significantly overweight (BMI >30) are advised to take a higher daily dose (5 mg) of folic acid when trying to conceive.

Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated that this unique combination significantly improves metabolism and helps to alleviate symptoms for women with PCOS.

Myo-inositol has been shown to mitigate insulin resistance. D-chiro-inositol helps generate energy from sugar, whilst alpha-lactalbumin enhances its absorption, providing comprehensive metabolic support for women with PCOS.

Alpha-lactalbumin is one of the key components of Inofolic® AlphaPlus; a whey milk protein that enhances the intestinal absorption of myo-inositol, and a key nutrient essential for maintaining hormonal balance and metabolic functions.

Inofolic® AlphaPlus is conveniently packaged in easy-to-take soft gel capsules, formulated with natural ingredients and minimal side effects.

Dr Gillian Lockwood, Consultant Fertility Specialist at Fertility Family said:

“The weight issues associated with PCOS have always presented a double problem for fertility patients. They can’t access effective NHS care because they are overweight, while their PCOS, which is causing their sub-fertility is often the cause of their weight problem.

This new, convenient, formulation of Inofolic AlphaPlus is designed to help PCOS women gain access to effective and affordable fertility care.”
