Cork-based wellness startup Wizard & Grace may have just created the Mammiest Mother’s Day card ever.

Tired of the slightly overdone emotionality of traditional mother’s day cards that are not quite suited to the.. eh.. Irish maternal love language? Ever ask yourself if your mother really needs another card adorned with a muted bouquet of flowers that doesn’t speak to her feisty temperament?

Well look no more. Kinsale-based sustainable essential oil candle company Wizard & Grace has created a range of stationery and gift cards and a complete Mother’s Day gifting service through its website Wizardandgrace.com. One of the key elements of its mother’s day giftsets are its original mother’s day card – all designed by Wizard & Grace founder in Kinsale and printed in Ireland on recycled paper accompanied by kraft envelopes.

 

 

The three cards reflect a different quirky aspect of Irish mammydom, from ‘conversations with mammy’ which reflect among other things how Irish mothers of adults and older kids show their love – through concerns about wearing a warm enough coat and whether you have eaten enough sandwiches; to Super Mammy – showcasing the superhuman attributes of a mammy with a young child; to the quirky colourful floral with a difference of ‘A mother like no other’.

The sustainable eco cards are available at www.wizardandgrace.com alongside gift sets of one to four sustainable luxury essential oil candles that Wizard & Grace handmake in Kinsale, intention notebooks and delicious chocolate brittle from fellow female-founder start-up Second Street Bakeshop, based in Cork.

 “I wanted to create a complete gifting set for mammies that combines luxury, sustainability and some fiest and fun too,” said Paula McGovern, Founder of Wizard & Grace, which she established in 2022.

Wizard & Grace essential oil candles were created out of an unrequited search for eco-conscious natural and healthy burning essential oil candles. Paula uses only sustainable rapeseed and coconut wax and her own blend of essential oils – all safely combined and poured in her studio in Kinsale.
