Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) Kildare will return on Sunday May 18th, 2025 at Barberstown Castle in Co. Kildare. |
Mark your calendars as the world-renowned Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) is set to make a triumphant return on Sunday May 18th, 2025, at the illustrious Barberstown Castle in Co. Kildare. The event is gearing up to bring together classic and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts from around Ireland and further afield for a charitable cause like no other. DGR – the world’s largest motorcycling charity event -is not just about bikes; it’s a Ride Draper style celebration of a bygone era’s fashion and fun – all in support of men’s health.
Building upon the success of previous years, the Kildare event enters its third edition with ambitious goals to exceed 250 registered riders, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and compassion that defines the DGR community. Over 100,000 riders from more than 1,000 cities across 120 countries are expected to participate, showcasing the global reach and impact of this noble initiative. This year will be even more special as with the help and association of “Cool & Trendy Customs” we are holding a very special Motorcycle and Scooter Display in Barberstown Castle. There will be some fantastic and one off motorbikes and scooters on display and showing throughout the weekend. This will be a chance for riders to display their bikes and for everyone to see and appreciate, what can only described as pieces of mechanical and engineering art. There will also be motorcycle related units displaying their products. Everyone is welcome to this family friendly event. Every year at DGR Kildare we try to provide something for our riders and supporters. Last year DGR had the privilege of the 2nd Cavalry Squadron lead the ride. The very special feature this year is in conjunction with Movember Ireland. Throughout the weekend the Movember Phone Booth will be at Barberstown Castle with “Talk to the MO and share your Moments”. This unique and thought provoking installation, invites people to share their stories and experiences on men’s mental health. People can share and speak about their struggles, triumphs and everything in between. This will highlight the need for open dialogue about Mens Mental Health in our community. “Be A Man Of More Words” Funds raised through the ride will be directed towards both local and global prostate cancer research and men’s mental health & suicide prevention programs, in collaboration with the official charity partner, Movember. But that’s not all! To reward registered riders and their supporters for their fundraising efforts, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Kildare has announced an exciting prize opportunity to win a Mash TT 400 Café Racer, specially commissioned for Kildare DGR 2025, with front and rear paddock stands and matching helmet. Every registered rider in the Kildare DGR will automatically be entered into the draw. Additionally, anyone who sponsors a registered DGR Kildare rider with a donation of over €20 will also be entered. This enticing prize aims to encourage participation and generate donations for this worthy cause. Tickets are also on sale at only €10 each or 3 for €20 and are available at the Castle, online and other locations, which will be announced through social media sites. The draw will take place live on Monday June 2nd 2025, providing an additional incentive for participants to rally support and raise funds leading up to the event. Donations received before this date will also be included in the draw, offering a extension after the ride finishes. This incredible opportunity not only adds excitement to the DGR campaign but also underscores the generosity and support of the community in championing men’s health.
