Cork City Ballet to enchant audiences with Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake this November

Cork City Ballet is thrilled to announce their upcoming production of Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet, ‘Swan Lake’, at Cork Opera House from 6 – 8 November 2025. This spectacular event promises to be a captivating experience for audiences of all ages, featuring a star-studded cast and breathtaking choreography that will bring this timeless story to life.

Under the artistic direction of Alan Foley, Cork City Ballet has meticulously crafted a production that marries stunning visual artistry with the emotive power of dance. Renowned Prima Ballerina Katerina Petrova from Sofia National Ballet will portray the dual roles of Odette and Odile, joined by her partner Tsetso Ivanov as Prince Siegfried. Their performances, supported by talented soloists and a full corps de ballet, will offer a mesmerising interpretation of this classic tale.

Audiences can expect opulent costumes and alluring sets that transport them into the enchanted world of ‘Swan Lake’. This rendition not only honours the traditional elements that fans love, but also introduces a unique twist.

As Foley explains, “Unlike the unalloyed tragedy most people cherish, this version ends with a fairy tale twist.” This fresh perspective adds a new layer of hope to the narrative, making it a must-see for both ballet enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

The production runs from Thursday 6th – Saturday 8th November 2025 with a matinee performance Sat 8th at 2.30pm. Tickets available at www.corkoperahouse.ie

Booking is already open and patrons are encouraged to secure their tickets early to ensure their place at this spectacular celebration of dance.
