Excitement Builds for new Padel Court Opening in Mountrath
Residents of Laois and the surrounding areas are invited to experience one of the fastest-growing sports in the world as Padel100 hosts a free Open Day on Saturday, 18th April 2026, at its new facility beside BloomHQ on Patrick Street, Mountrath.
Taking place from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on the event will offer the public the opportunity to explore the brand-new padel courts and gym spaces, with guided tours available throughout the day.
Padel, a unique mix of tennis and squash, has grown rapidly in popularity across Ireland, and this new facility aims to bring this exciting sport to the heart of the midlands. The Open Day is designed to welcome all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to those with experience looking to try something new!
Visitors can look forward to:
- Live padel demonstrations and games
- Tours of the new gym and facilities incl. demos of Yoga, Pilates, TRX and HYROX
- Tours of BloomHQ conference rooms and facilities
- Music, entertainment, and light refreshments
- A fun, family-friendly atmosphere
The event is being hosted in collaboration with Mountrath Health & Fitness Academy and BloomHQ. It has been important for all organisations involved to highlight Mountrath as a growing hub for health, fitness, and community wellbeing.
Alan Phelan, the Organiser for the event said: “We are so excited to finally open our doors to the local community and introduce people to padel. It’s a fun and social sport that is easy for anyone to pick up, and this Open Day is all about giving people the opportunity to experience it in a new state of the art environment.”
