Cancer Fund For Children’s Star-Studded Daisy Ball Raises Vital Funds For Families Facing Childhood Cancer
Irish stars turn out for one of the most glamorous nights in the charity calendar, raising vital funds for Cancer Fund for Children
Cancer Fund For Children’s annual Daisy Ball brought a host of familiar faces to the InterContinental Hotel, Dublin, on Friday 25th of September to raise vital funds and awareness for children and families navigating childhood cancer across the island of Ireland.
Taking place during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the glamorous evening saw guests come together in support of the charity, enjoying an evening of fine dining, entertainment and fundraising.
Hosted by Kathryn Thomas, the star-studded occasion featured a packed programme of entertainment, including a live auction kindly supported by Wilsons Auctions, before guests took to the dance floor for a special performance from Smash Hits.
Among those stepping onto the red carpet were Irish jockey Rachael Blackmore, Ireland AM presenter Deric Ó h’Artagáin, model boss Mandy Maher, Virgin Media favourites Elaine Crowley, Alan Hughes, Martin King, and Jenny McCarthy, RTÉ 2FM host Helen Galgey, author and presenter Andrea Hayes, silver medal-winning boxer Kaci Rock, along with Edel Conroy, DJ Dave Treacy, Lauren Gavigan, Sam Kelly, Paige Mitchell, Audrey McGrath, Rebecca Kelly and Sinead Rice. The star-studded guest list brought together familiar faces from across Irish television, sport, media, beauty and entertainment.
Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional, social, and therapeutic support to children and young people (0-24yrs) living with cancer across the island of Ireland, as well as their parents and siblings. This support is provided at home, in hospital, in the community and at the charity’s short-break therapeutic centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co. Down.
For over 10 years, Daisy Lodge in Co. Down has provided thousands of families with restorative short breaks, precious time to reconnect, benefit from peer support, and simply be together. Over 4,000 families have experienced this support, yet demand remains far greater than capacity.
In summer 2025, Cancer Fund for Children began construction on a second Daisy Lodge on the shores of Lough Corrib in Cong, Co. Mayo. Due to open in spring 2027, this beautiful purpose-built facility will provide even more families with a safe, restorative haven where they can focus on each other.
