Newbay House to be officially unveiled during Wexford Wedding Extravaganza with the help of ‘So Sue Me’ Suzanne Jackson, following €2.8 million refurbishment

To celebrate the official reopening of Newbay House, one of Wexford’s oldest and most exclusive properties, brides and grooms-to-be are being invited to attend a one-off, unique wedding event that will showcase the stunning country house and surrounding gardens.

The Wexford Wedding Extravaganza, which will take place on Sunday 28th April from 1pm to 5.30pm, will give couples the chance to envisage their dream day at the newly refurbished Newbay House, while providing an opportunity for future brides and grooms to meet and network with some of Leinster’s most sought-after wedding suppliers.

The special guest on the day will be none other than So Sue Me herself, Suzanne Jackson, who will add an extra touch of sparkle to an already exclusive event by sharing her top wedding tips and tricks. So Sue Me fans will also be treated to a fashion show courtesy of Wexford’s Runaway Bride; winner of Wedding Boutique of the Year 2018 and the store responsible for dressing Suzanne on her own big day in 2017.

Those keen to get a glimpse at the full extent of the €2.8 million refurbishment won’t have to wait too long, with tours of the house and gardens taking place after the welcome drinks reception. Also on the agenda for this high-end event is a beauty segment with Blogger and MUA Susan Ryan; a hair demonstration courtesy of Hair by Bonnie and a wide range of exhibitions from suppliers such as Lily Bloom Florist; Waters Video; Wedding Creations Stationary; and Jenny’s Cupcakes. Guests will also be treated to a gourmet afternoon tea, exclusive supplier discounts and a deluxe goodie bag.

With a colourful past that dates back as far as the 17th century, Newbay House is steeped in history and Wexford tradition. The building and grounds in their current form were first built during the 1820s and in spite of various tweaks and changes over the course of almost two centuries, the property still maintains a sense of grandeur that is synonymous with a stately home. It’s luxury and opulence has once again been revived, thanks to a significant €2.8 million investment that has restored Newbay House to its former glory. Set on 16 acres of gardens and woodland on the outskirts of Wexford Town and just two hours from Dublin, this lovingly restored country house looks set to become one of the country’s most desirable wedding venues.

“After months and months of planning, designing, restoration and refining, we are extremely excited to finally unveil the stunning new-look Newbay House to the public,” said Robert Millar, Area General Manager of Newbay House. “While the launch spells good news for wedding couples, the property’s restoration means a great deal to the Wexford community, with the creation of 20 new jobs and a further 20 positions expected to be filled in the coming two years.”

Commenting on the launch event, Weddings & Events Manager Rebecca McGuire said, “The upcoming Wedding Extravaganza will be an incredibly exclusive event, thanks to the addition of special guests such as Suzanne Jackson and Susan Ryan.  We feel it is a fitting way to unveil such a grand and luxurious wedding venue. The house, the grounds and the overall atmosphere and setting is really something that needs to be seen and experienced to be believed, so we would encourage any future brides and grooms in search of a unique, unforgettable wedding venue to buy tickets today to avoid disappointment! The team and I are looking forward to welcoming everyone on the day and we hope that in the near future we’ll have the chance to make their dream wedding a reality.”
