AN ICONIC FRAGRANCE REINVENTED

In ARMANI CODE’s new era, Giorgio Armani introduces ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE. Its timeless olfactory composition now in the new ARMANI CODE bottle reflects the essence of a modern masculinity.

The new, statement bottle for the ARMANI CODE fragrances was introduced with the debut of ARMANI CODE PARFUM in 2022. Sleek, masculine, and elegant, this bottle now becomes the flacon for the iconic ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE. This bottle, designed with a unique, square and rounded shape, reinvents the ARMANI CODE look for a new generation. In its refillable design, the flacon embodies Giorgio Armani’s commitment to sustainability.

The new ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE bottle holds the iconic ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE scent, created in 2004. This woody ambery fragrance encapsulates a nuanced masculinity. The scent’s composition highlights captivating contrasts, as the freshness of green mandarin superessence fuses with aromatic lavandin heart, and the sensual, enticing tonka bean absolute blends with comforting cedarwood heart.

The new vision for ARMANI CODE challenges outdated archetypes of masculinity, taking inspiration from self-expression and the importance of authenticity.

THE STRIKING BOTTLE

A BOLD FLACON FOR AN ICONIC FRAGRANCE

The ARMANI CODE bottle creates a new graphic signature. Its rounded yet square shape ushers in a bold new identity for the ARMANI CODE fragrances.

ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE is now presented in the ARMANI CODE flacon that debuted last year with the launch of ARMANI CODE PARFUM. This striking bottle conveys a modern, masculine take on luxury, and is crafted as a beautiful object to keep.

Designed in elegant black with contrasting white lettering, the glass bottle features a refined, graduated base. The bottle is accented with a contrasting, sophisticated silver platform under the cap that catches the light. The magnetic Giorgio Armani-monogrammed cap snaps shut, for an uplifting sensory experience.

AN ELEGANT, REFILLABLE FLACON

ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE is presented in the new ARMANI CODE bottle, each size of which is refillable and designed to last.

The fragrance is accompanied by a new refill bottle, which can be used with all sizes of the spray bottles. The new 150ml refill bottle offers a functional refill system that allows the original spray bottle to be refilled seamlessly, without using a funnel. The refill bottle is simply turned upside down, to decant the fragrance into the original bottle, without losing a drop.

THE ARMANI CODE ICONIC SCENT

EMBLEMATIC OF MODERN MASCULINITY

ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE retains its iconic composition, presented in the new ARMANI CODE flacon.

The fragrance’s timeless juice was crafted by master perfumer Antoine Maisondieu in 2004. He kept the quintessence of the original ARMANI CODE: its distinctive structure made up of an aromatic, woody, and tonka bean trio. Based on that core, the master perfumer played up the soft side with iris, which brings a very refined facet to the fragrance. Antoine Maisondieu brought more intensity, sensitivity, and a touch of sensuality by playing with the classic codes of masculinity.

The fragrance opens with a trio of sparkling citrus notes, composed of Green Mandarin Superessence, sustainably sourced in Italy, which creates a bright, sparkling effect. This blends with a grapefruit accord and the freshness of bergamot oil.

At the scent’s heart is lavandin heart, sustainably sourced in France, which lends modern, aromatic facets to the fragrance, alongside an effect of magnetism. This note combines with rosemary oil and estragon oil, which create fresh, vegetal, and aromatic accents.

The fragrance’s base is defined by two notes that are each a signature of the ARMANI CODE fragrances – tonka bean absolute and cedarwood heart. The tonka bean absolute brings a warm, sensual effect. This blends with the woody strength of cedarwood heart and a musk accord, creating an intense yet comforting trail. the cedarwood heart is obtained via fractional distillation of the cedarwood oil to create a comforting note with undertones of sandalwood. The tonka bean absolute, meanwhile, is sourced from the fruits of the dipterix odorata tree. When the fruits fall from the tree the seeds are harvested, and the scent is extracted to create a powerful, long-lasting note that fuses sensual, warm facets of honey, tobacco, and praline.

PRECIOUS INGREDIENTS, FINELY CRAFTED

When creating the brand’s fragrances, Giorgio Armani prioritizes ingredients whose origins and sourcing are traceable. This ensures that the ingredients are of the highest quality, while being sourced with respect for the environment and the communities where they are found.

Many of the main signature notes of ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE are of natural origin. Among them is the green mandarin superessence from Calabria, Italy. This ingredient is durably sourced in Calabria, where the fruits are handpicked. To create the note, the oil is extracted from the peel without pressing the fruit, using a cold extraction method. Then, a filtering and molecular distillation process creates a refined note with a fresh, sparkling effect. This sourcing method supports local farmers’ improvement of their agricultural practices.

The lavandin heart is sustainably sourced in Provence, in the South of France. Its sourcing supports sustainable and innovative agricultural practices that improve harvests and benefit those who grow the plant. The note is obtained via a steam distillation and fractionation method, which heightens the lavandin’s powerful aromatic and floral facets.

LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE

A MEANINGFUL SUSTAINABLE FLACON

In line with Giorgio Armani’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development, ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE places the planet at the heart of its design. The eco-design approach of ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE is demonstrated in its refillable bottle, which is designed to last. To accompany the refillable bottle is the new, 150ml refill bottle. The refill is intuitive to use, as it is simply turned upside down to decant the fragrance into the original bottle, without losing a drop.

Refilling a spray bottle reduces glass use by 38%, metal use by 67%, and paper use by 22%*. Demonstrating the brand’s appreciation of the challenges of tomorrow, ARMANI CODE EAU DE TOILETTE has been designed for those who are aware of their responsibility towards the planet.

PRESERVING FORESTS TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE

Beyond the composition and design of each product, Giorgio Armani’s broader commitment is to fight the climate emergency by protecting ecosystems and forests, which play an essential role in tackling climate change. Trees can offset carbon emissions, as through photosynthesis they absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Forest preservation and reforestation is therefore vital to protect the environment, with trees key to achieving carbon neutrality.

As of 2023, Giorgio Amani supports five forest preservation programs located across three countries – Zimbabwe, Brazil, and Peru. These initiatives have helped to preserve more than 15,000 hectares of forest and have resulted in the planting of more than 50,000 trees.

SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES WITH ACCESS TO WATER

Water scarcity is another effect of climate change, which Giorgio Armani is responding to through its Acqua for Life initiative. It aims to provide universal access to drinking water in arid regions. Begun in 2010, the year the United Nations recognized the right to water and sanitation as a fundamental right, Acqua for Life is an ongoing commitment of the brand. To date, Acqua for Life has invested more than €12 million in projects that have provided access to clean water for over 450,000 people in 21 countries on three continents**.

Acqua for Life partners and maintains an ongoing dialogue with three key stakeholders around the world: Unicef, WaterAid, and Water.org. As of 2023, this international water initiative encompasses nine projects, including four new initiatives in China, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, and five others in India, Madagascar, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda. Acqua for Life is committed to continuing its engagement with communities around the world to provide universal access to clean water.

REWRITE THE CODE

MOVING FORWARD

ARMANI CODE evolves a new, modern chapter within the Giorgio Armani masculine fragrance world. At the heart of the fragrance’s philosophy is the concept of “rewrite the code.”

Today, a man should be allowed to be at ease with being simply who he is, without any pressure to fit a pre-conceived standard. In this contemporary, forward-looking world, masculinity reflects today’s men, rather than archetypes, and becomes multi-faceted, more diverse.

My idea of masculinity is free from patterns and impositions. My work, from clothes to perfumes, couldn’t be further from the stereotypical and speaks to the constant rewriting of codes. This new fragrance is a further step in that direction. Being a man today means giving free expression to elegance and therefore finding the balance and harmony between what you choose to wear and what you have inside you, your way of presenting yourself and existing.” Giorgio Armani

EMBODYING A NEW MASCULINITY

British actor Regé-Jean Page embodies the ARMANI CODE fragrances and their forward-looking masculinity. Known for taking on roles that offer a nuanced interpretation of what it is to be a man, Regé-Jean Page personifies ARMANI CODE’s modern masculinity.  Living in tune with the world around him, Regé-Jean Page is keenly aware of the need to protect the environment. The actor deepened this awareness in his role as narrator of the 2022 Netflix nature documentary “Surviving Paradise: A Family Tale,” which charts how different groups of animals inhabit the oasis of the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

“There is only a future world to look “forward” to if we sustain it. We must continually educate ourselves on what that means, and how to put that into practice.” Regé-Jean Page

Regé-Jean Page interprets and explores the nuances of a gentle, profound masculinity that is not ostentatious or showy. He authentically and spontaneously represents the cultural richness and vitality of this moment in time.” Giorgio Armani

The ARMANI CODE campaign, featuring Regé-Jean Page and shot by French director Manu Cossu and British photographer Damon Baker, evokes a future-facing, modern masculinity, as Regé-Jean Page pushes back against the norms of the world in which he finds himself. The film campaign depicts Regé-Jean Page as he deftly navigates a backwards-moving city. Amidst the action, it is only when Regé-Jean Page experiences connection with another that the world is set in its rightful, forwards-moving direction. This moment of human connection, captured in ARMANI CODE is, the campaign illustrates, a powerful agent of knowledge, progress, and empathy.
