Current Miss County Dublin and Miss Ireland’s second runner-up Hannah-Kathleen Hawkshaw will represent Ireland at the upcoming Miss International Pageant. 

Miss International, one of the core ‘Big Four’ global beauty pageants, sees participants from more than 70 countries vying for the coveted crown, with delegates elected as “beauty goodwill ambassadors”  to promote peace and cross-cultural understanding. With a focus on positivity, inner strength and individuality, the 62nd Miss International will take place on November 12th 2024 in Tokyo, Japan, with  Hannah-Kathleen representing the Emerald Isle for the first time since 2016. 

The dynamic and multifaceted Hannah-Kathleen is a beacon of modern empowerment, epitomising the spirit of progress and positive change. Captivating audiences with her diverse talents in the worlds of communications, creativity, and the arts, she is unwavering in her dedication to social advocacy. 

From starting a fashion blog at the age of 12, which awarded her Best Fashion Blog in 2017, to launching a career in branding and communications, being recognised as a Top 30U30 Female Entrepreneur by Yahoo! Finance in 2021, and participating in leadership gatherings centred on impact with Sir Richard  Branson on Necker Island, Hannah-Kathleen’s journey to Miss International is a testament to her  exceptional efforts, vibrant personality, and intrinsic desire to grow and pay it forward. 

 

Alongside her entrepreneurial efforts, Hannah-Kathleen commits extensive time to working alongside  both homegrown and global charities. Crowned ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ at Miss Ireland 2023, Hannah Kathleen works alongside Dublin’s Hope 4 Homeless and UK-based Yiannis Christodoulou Foundation, a  children and educational charity, while also spending time in Delhi, India, immersing herself in  educational programs for youth, working closely with the Lakshyam NGO, a charity uplifting women  and children from the depths of poverty. 

Additionally, Hannah-Kathleen has taken on the role of Director of Advancement with the Broadway Dreams Foundation, a not-for-profit dedicated to empowering young people through arts education. 

When speaking about her title as Miss International Ireland, Hannah-Kathleen said, “Miss International  embodies elegance, purpose, and impact, so I am extremely thankful to have been given this once-in a-lifetime opportunity to make this personal dream come true! It will be a huge honour and milestone in  my life to represent our beautiful nation. In the lead up to the final, I hope to use this as a chance to  showcase Ireland and raise awareness of the real superheroes and incredible organisations tackling  societal challenges faced today.” 

As Hannah-Kathleen prepares to embark on this exciting journey as Ireland’s first representative for Miss  International since 2016, she is committed to using her platform to empower and promote positive  change on a global scale.
