Giorgio Armani introduces BLANC KOGANE and NOIR KOGANE, a new refined duo comprising the latest additions to the Armani/Privé Haute Couture Fragrances collection. Respectively crafted in ivory and deep black tones, each flacon is adorned with gold patterns, mirroring the preciousness of Kintsugi pottery and paying tribute to this ancestral Japanese art.
Contrasting yet complementary, the two fragrances make a compelling scent pairing:
A REFINED, ANCESTRAL ART
The fragrance duo pays tribute to the ancestral Japanese art of Kintsugi, whose history can be traced back to the 15th century. Underlining a philosophy of resilience, its craft involves repairing broken ceramics by highlighting their fault lines with real gold powder, transforming an everyday object into a work of art.
BLANC KOGANE – A LUMINOUS, ENVELOPING SCENT
BLANC KOGANE is an addictive, white floral musky fragrance crafted by master perfumer Benoist Lapouza (GIVAUDAN), that puts a twist on a clean, animalistic scent by blending it with a white jasmine duo. This enveloping fragrance conjures the pure, delicate scent of bare skin.
The scent opens with a bright, captivating note of fresh lemon essence from Italy. Its heart convey an animalistic florality. Its duo of jasmine notes, sustainably sourced in India blends with solar ylang ylang and fluid lily of the valley accord, creating the scent’s harmonious trail. The base fuses sustainably sourced vetiver essence from Haiti and patchouli essence from Indonesia, which bring a new, woody aspect to the base’s overdose of white musk notes.
NOIR KOGANE – AN EARTHY, MYSTERIOUS SCENT
NOIR KOGANE’s opulent, woody leathery spicy fragrance is crafted by perfumer Sophie Labbé (FIRMENICH). It captures an earthy, woody vetiver scent, enhanced by the warmth and spice of saffron notes.
A captivating and fresh elemi opens the fragrance. The scent unfolds into a heart of olibanum essence, surrounded by saffron notes, emphasising the fragrance’s leathery, bold facet. At the base is the vetiver heart, sustainably sourced in Haiti, and fused with patchouli essence from Guatemala. These notes blend with the base’s wood-leather accord, lending the fragrance its smoky, woody, and animalistic effect, and its deep, textured sensation.
Among the fragrance’s ingredients, the vetiver heart has been crafted specifically for Giorgio Armani to create NOIR KOGANE’s distinctive composition. This hand-picked and precious ingredient is extracted in a specific method in which the vetiver roots are distilled for 10 hours near to where the plant is harvested, to deliver the note’s vibrant olfaction. This vetiver essential oil is then shaped and purified via molecular distillation for a fresher, sparkling vetiver scent, that softens its earthier notes.
