Irish Brand Founders: Spotlighting the Entrepreneurs behind Ireland’s Most Exciting Brands

Ahead of St Patrick’s Day, we are spotlighting the Irish founders shaping the future of beauty and wellness. Across professional skincare, performance recovery, luxury hair design and aesthetic medicine, Jennifer Rock, Jarrad Butler, Emma King, and Brendan Molloy have turned strong personal visions into highly respected brands. Together, they set the benchmark for modern Irish excellence.

Jennifer Rock – Skingredients®

Jennifer Rock is an award-winning skin tutor, dermal facialist, bestselling author and the CEO and founder of the Skingredients® skincare range, The Skin Nerd® educational platform and store, and the Skin Nerd Network® online consultation service, which has welcomed more than 60,000 clients to date. She has published two bestselling books and is a regular contributor across Irish and UK media, including 2FM and Dancing with the Stars.

Jarrad Butler – Sportskn

Jarrad Butler is a New Zealand-born former professional rugby player who moved to Ireland in 2017, where he spent seven seasons playing for Connacht Rugby and captained the club from 2018, gaining first-hand insight into the demands of elite performance and recovery. After stepping back from professional rugby, he founded SportSkn, an Irish recovery-focused skincare brand created specifically for athletes and active lifestyles, addressing the often-overlooked link between skin health and physical recovery. Drawing on his playing experience and holistic approach to wellbeing, Jarrad built SportSkn around the belief that recovery goes beyond muscles alone, positioning the brand at the intersection of performance, self-care and modern Irish wellness culture.

Emma King – Cascata

Emma King is one of Ireland’s leading bridal stylists, widely recognised for her artistry and expertise. She has received multiple prestigious accolades, including Bridal Stylist of the Year in 2018 and 2019, as well as the coveted Weddings Online Bridal Stylist of the Year award in 2022 and 2023.

Emma’s journey in hairstyling began at just 15, when she trained under the highly respected Felix O’Donoghue at The Hairdresser in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. In 2006, she established Unique Hair Design, now operating under the Emma K brand, where she continues to work today. In 2015, she completed her Masters (Senior Trades), a teaching qualification, and earned certification in hair and scalp health.

Building on her success, Emma later founded Cascata, a luxury hair extension and accessories brand designed to complement her signature soft, effortless style. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for enhancing occasion hair, Cascata offers a curated collection of elegant, handcrafted pieces that reflect her refined aesthetic.
