It may not be sun-kissed, with palm trees, but the Wexford seashore is the inspiration behind the new Coastal Vibe collection from Liwu Jewellery, which will brighten Christmas Day for many of us this year.

Featuring shells cast from Ballymoney Beach in Wexford, the latest new Liwu offering, designed and made by Áine Breen, reflects the calming atmosphere of the coast, and resonates with sea-swimmers and everyone inspired by the sea.

Personal to her own life, the pretty shells collected by Áine Breen are cast into unusual necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings, both in solid gold and silver options.  Her first Coastal Vibe collection this month sold-out in weeks, prompting extra production to meet Christmas gifting demand.

Áine Breen’s Ballymoney farmhouse and studio by the sea is a source of inspiration for the accountant turned jewellery designer.  Her Liwu brand of handcrafted silver and gold pieces are sold globally, online, and take pride of place in her jewellery and gifts emporium in Gorey, Lu & Mol’s, https://www.luandmol.ie.

Sentiment & Meaning

The sentiment behind Liwu design gives an extra dimension to the Irish-made jewellery collection, as pieces come with an individual meaning card, making them popular special occasion gifts.  The delicate sea shell designs are about embracing ‘your unique and perfect imperfections’; while a pretty anchor design reflects being ‘anchored by the people who love us’.

New gold and silver ‘waves’ pendants represent the gift of calmness, as we breathe in the salt sea air, and listen to the waves.

There is a complete set of delicate necklaces, earrings and a bracelet, in sterling silver and 9ct gold, in both the seashells and anchor Coastal Vibe designs, as well as a striking silver shell ring.

Liwu Jewellery is elegant and understated with a variety of themed collections featuring stars and hearts emblems and meaningful symbols from Celtic lore and other ancient traditions.

Timeless Gifts

Men’s Liwu jewellery is also featured, for a timeless gift with meaning, for the special men in our lives.  Steel cufflinks can be engraved to order and come gold-plated too; while a chunkier chain in different lengths accompanies the different symbol pendants, for a masculine look.

Pretty pieces of symbolic children’s jewellery come in sterling silver too and can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

Other jewellery brands of note in Áine Breen’s Gorey store, Lu & Mol’s, are striking and elegant Cluse watches for men and women that are handmade in Amsterdam.  Lu & Mol is also the first stockist in Ireland of the design-led Lund London drinkware and home décor, which is also found in the Conrad Shop in London and The Met in NYC.

Liwu pieces also feature classic initials and birthstones, and other Irish brands on sale online and instore include Inner Island, Aria-V, Ale Walsh and Naoi jewellery.  International brands include Nilai JewelleryDyrberg Kern, handmade Pig and Hen rope bracelets, and the colourful Couer de Leon collection, among an eclectic selection of classic and artisan pieces.

Stocking Fillers

A curated selection of giftware includes bags, candles, diffusers, journals, jewellery caskets and gift-cards that are ideal Christmas stocking fillers.   The Gorey gifts emporium also takes orders for bespoke jewellery, while jewellery repairs and engraving are available too.

Gift wrapping is included with all instore and online orders, and there is the option to click and collect from the Upper Esmonde Street giftshop in Gorey.  The store is open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am – 5.00pm and on Sundays for the month of December.
