Jazz fans can enjoy live music while supporting the Cope Foundation at the Metropole Hotel this weekend.

The hotel is part of Trigon Hotels, which has a long standing charity partnership with the Cope Foundation.

The partnership resulted in the development of the Cope Foundation garden based in Montenotte and fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs from the garden are used in the hotel kitchens. Trigon hotels also engages with Cope’s Ability@Work programme – a dedicated supported employment service that aims to bring young people with intellectual disabilities and /or autism closer to the labour market.

Cope Foundation supports 2,800 people with an intellectual disability and/or autism to live a life of their choosing. The charity has 70 locations around Cork city and county.

The Metropole Hotel will have live music in the newly renovated ballroom from 1pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Customers will be asked for a voluntary donation of €5 per person and all proceeds will go directly to the charity.

The Metropole, which is the original home of the Cork Jazz Festival, has a full programme of live music across the October Bank Holiday weekend. The evening sessions are all booked out but people can still enjoy lunch and live music in the Met restaurant during the afternoons.

Sandra Murphy, Group Brand and Communications Manager for Trigon Hotels said: “The Cork Jazz Festival is more than an event for us. It’s a tradition that brings our community together. Each year, we look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors who come to immerse themselves in the world of jazz, experience Cork’s warm hospitality, and make lasting memories. The hotel’s historic connection to the festival is something we hold close to our hearts, and each year we aim to build on this legacy with even more exciting offerings and experiences. Cope Foundation does tremendous work for so many people across Cork and we are delighted to be able to support them in any way we can this weekend.”
