Children’s Health Foundation and MiWadi have teamed up again this year to launch the ‘Trick or Treat for Sick Children’ campaign. In its 12th year of partnership with MiWadi, Children’s Health Foundation calls on individuals, families, schools, and community groups to sign up for a free party pack and help raise vital funds for a worthy cause.
By signing up for a free party pack, participants can embrace their inner monster and host a Trick or Treat for Sick Children Halloween party. Whether it’s a small gathering at home or a larger event at a school or community centre, the party packs include stickers, how-to tips, posters, a collection box, and much more.
This year, the campaign highlights the incredible courage of young patients like four-year-old Méabh from Limerick. At just three years old, Méabh was diagnosed with a brain tumour and spent 30 weeks in Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street. Méabh’s bravery, combined with the exceptional care she received at Children’s Health Ireland, demonstrates the crucial importance of fundraising efforts like this one.
In support of children like Méabh, MiWadi, and Children’s Health Foundation are hosting a one-off ‘Daytime Disco’ – a monster-themed, fun-filled event for children of all ages (and parents who love a good tune!).
TikTok superstar DJ Calum, aged 14, will be the show’s star, spinning tracks for guests. He will be supported by his hype-man brother, Jackson, and Trick or Treat ambassador Alison Curtis.
During the disco, children can participate in activities like glow stick crafts, face painting, bubbles, and parachute games.
Speaking about the ‘Trick or Treat for Sick Children’ campaign, Fionnuala O’Leary, Chief Executive of Children’s Health Foundation, said, “We are delighted to be launching this hugely successful campaign once again. We are very grateful to all our Trick or Treaters nationwide who support this fantastic campaign each year. The involvement of so many schools, crèches, families, communities, and workplaces across Ireland demonstrates just how much people care about sick and injured children in our country. Thank you all – you are truly making a difference in the lives of the hundreds of thousands of children who come through the doors of Children’s Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres. We are also immensely grateful to MiWadi for their continued incredible support each year.”
Caroline Hyde, Marketing Manager at MiWadi, Britvic Ireland, added: “Our Trick or Treat partnership has grown stronger every year, and we are excited to introduce the Monster DJ Daytime Disco in 2024. This campaign is about fun, creativity, and community spirit, and we encourage everyone to join in and host their own Halloween party to support this important cause.”
At the launch, Alison Curtis said: “This will be my third year supporting Trick or Treat for Sick Children, and I can’t think of a greater cause. This year’s DJ-themed event is close to my heart, and I can’t wait to see the children enjoying the party with DJ Calum. Hopefully, I’ll have time to spin a tune or two myself. Please, I urge you – if you’ve never supported this incredible campaign before, let this be the first of many.”
Tickets for the Monster DJ Daytime Disco go on sale on 17th September. They are priced at €5.50 for kids and €11 per adult. Tickets are available from today via Eventbrite.
