Digital marketing and social media consultant, Amy O’Sullivan has taken up the role of National President of Network Ireland 2025 following the group’s AGM last weekend. She succeeds 2024 President Linda Codoul. Through the theme of her presidency ‘Breaking Barriers’, she plans to highlight the challenges faced by women in business and the importance of overcoming them.
Upon graduating from DCU with a degree in Economics, Politics and Law, Amy worked in a variety of sales and marketing roles with Irish and international brands before setting up her own business, AOS Consulting, in 2019. She is a qualified trainer who facilitates social media workshops as part of the suite of services her company offers to businesses and marketing teams, including strategic social media management, content creation, branding, and website design.
Amy joined the local branch of Network Ireland in her native Kilkenny in 2017 before moving to the Waterford branch when her work took her south. ‘Breaking Barriers’ is her theme for 2025 and she is committed to spending the year dismantling the obstacles – both internal and external – that hold women back.
She says, “Women in business often struggle with access to mentorship, investor networks, and equitable funding opportunities, as well as implicit biases that can limit advancement and slow the growth of women-led businesses and innovation. My theme for 2025, ‘Breaking Barriers’ represents a commitment to challenge these limitations and open up new avenues for women across sectors. Through targeted programming, mentorship, and advocacy, we aim to provide the resources and visibility that help women navigate these barriers and achieve their professional and business goals. The goal of this theme is to not only empower individual growth but to drive a broader cultural shift towards genuine equality in business.”
In her inaugural event as president, Amy will host Network Ireland’s first ever All-Island International Women’s Day event on Saturday, March 8th at Croke Park. It will bring together women from every corner of the island and will be supported by key partners including Women in Business NI, InterTradeIreland, and Enterprise Ireland, as well as the organisation’s official partner, AIB.
Commenting on AIB’s ongoing partnership with Network Ireland Ciara Ryan, Head of Wealth and General Insurance AIB, said: “I am delighted that AIB and Network Ireland will continue to work together through our long established partnership. AIB is a strong supporter of women in enterprise and we see our partnership with Network Ireland as a great fit as we continue to champion female-led businesses. Network Ireland is a wonderful resource for female entrepreneurs and with AIB’s presence across Ireland, we will continue to proactively support the organisation’s members.”
Amy has chosen Debra Ireland as Network Ireland’s charity partner for the All-Island IWD event. The group supports people living with the incurable genetic condition, epidermolysis bullosa (EB) or butterfly skin, and their families. It offers financial, emotional and practical assistance, as well as funding research into the illness and advocating for improved services. Amy’s choice of charity was inspired by Debra Ireland Patient Ambassador, Emma Fogarty whose story of resilience resonated deeply and whose fundraising efforts at last year’s Dublin marathon chimed with the 2025 theme of Breaking Barriers.
Amy said: “Emma’s courage and determination remind us in the clearest possible terms that we can do hard things. The power of our network lies in its ability to inspire and connect women of all ages and abilities, showing them what is possible. The old saying, “I cannot be what I cannot see,” holds true—by showcasing the achievements of our members, we empower women to make bold career moves, elevate their businesses, and reach new heights.”
