Patricia Molloy, the founder of The Derma Clinic, has been a trailblazer in Ireland’s aesthetics industry. With a nursing background and extensive training in the US and UK, Patricia established The Derma Clinic in 1999 as Ireland’s first specialist clinic in lasers and medical aesthetics. “I had just left hospital nursing and was looking for a new challenge. I was in the US in 1998 and saw an aesthetic clinic. I was intrigued, did my research to find how to train and then opened DermaClinic in 1999,” she shares.
Now celebrating their 25th Anniversary, the clinic located in Monkstown Dublin is renowned for offering cutting-edge treatments like Morpheus8, Exosomes, and Polynucleotides, all performed by a highly trained team of nurses and doctors.
Patricia’s influence extends beyond her clinic. As the former Chairperson of the Dermatology & Aesthetic Nurses Association Ireland (DANAI) and a trainer with Sinclair Pharma, she continuously works to elevate aesthetic medicine standards in Ireland. “I attend two to three international conferences a year like IMCAS in Paris, FACE in London, and AMWC in Monaco,” she notes.
Reflecting on the clinic’s evolution, Patricia notes, “We started with one laser hair removal machine, and now we do everything from injectables and threads to advanced laser treatments.” The clinic’s approach is holistic, with a strong emphasis on client education and personalised treatment plans.
When asked about the most rewarding treatment she offers, Patricia says, “Morpheus8 has been a game changer because it addresses so many signs of ageing by tightening and improving skin texture by stimulating both collagen and elastin.“
Looking to the future, Patricia envisions continued advancements in regenerative treatments and products. Her unwavering dedication to innovation and patient care ensures that The Derma Clinic will remain at the forefront of the aesthetics industry for years to come.
