Culture Date with Dublin 8 is a neighbourhood initiative, which celebrates Dublin 8’s rich cultural, historical, and architectural heritage while encouraging people who are living, working and visiting the area to explore what is on their doorstep.
The initiative offers a year-long programme of family-friendly events, activities, tours and workshops during a weekend-long festival in May and a host of events that take place across the calendar year.
This collaborative project and programme of events aims to connect with and amplify the wider efforts being made to regenerate the area, highlighting all the great things there are to see and do in Dublin 8 to locals and visitors alike.
Culture Date with Dublin 8 is hosted by some of the area’s most significant cultural and historical landmarks, museums, and world-famous breweries and distilleries including IMMA – Irish Museum of Modern Art, Kilmainham Gaol, The Phoenix Park, The Irish National War Memorial Gardens, Richmond Barracks, Goldenbridge Cemetery, Christchurch Cathedral, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Edward Worth Library, Marsh’s Library, Dublinia, The National Archives, Guinness Storehouse, Pearse Lyons Distillery, Rascals Brewery, Stillgarden Distillery and more.
Culture Date with Dublin 8 aims to put Dublin 8 on the map as a unique, sought-after, cultural destination, connecting communities to their national heritage and cultural institutions while establishing a new platform for cultural, historical, and educational organisations to work together.
