Damian McCarthy was joined by Actress Carolyn  and members of the cast of the award-winning horror ODDITY  at Dublin’s Lighthouse Cinema on Monday evening. Also spotted on the evening were Clint Drieberg and David Mitxchell ,Tara Flynn, Robbie Walsh, Sorcha O Connor as well as Monica Walsh and Kristina Karaeva.

 

ODDITY follows a blind medium who uncovers the truth behind her sister’s death with the help of a frightening wooden mannequin. The cast includes Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody), Carolyn Bracken (An Cailín Ciúin), Tadhg Murphy (The Northman), Caroline Menton (Altar Boys), Steve Wall (Dune: Part Two), Johnny French (The Rock in the Sea), Joe Rooney (Killinaskully), Shane Whisker (The Pope’s Exorcist), and Ivan de Wergifosse (The Last Duel).

Since its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, earlier this year, where it won the Midnighter Audience Award, the horror has gone on to win the Audience Award at the Overlook Film Festival in New Orleans and was nominated for Best Feature Film at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland. The film is written and directed by Damian McCarthy (Caveat), and produced by Katie Holly (Extra Ordinary), Evan Horan (Caveat), Mette-Marie Kongsved (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore), and Laura Tunstall (Come To Daddy) for Shudder, Keeper Pictures and Nowhere. 

Wildcard Distribution will bring the film to Irish cinemas on 30th August.
