The Montenotte’s outdoor terrace has undergone a stunning botanical transformation just in time for their reopening this week.

The lavish new look ‘Panorama Terrace’, which was created by designer Jane Gilloway, takes inspiration from the hotel’s sunken Victorian Gardens with living walls, lush greenery and a floral symphony.   The space has become a summer paradise, adorned with unique flora resplendent in bright summer stems, tropical ferns and palms, and bright bursts of peonies.

With heated outdoor seating overlooking the gardens, woodland walk, wildflower meadow and fountain, and a bird’s eye view of Cork City, this is the ultimate luxury oasis for al-fresco dining and cocktails this summer. You can see why it’s one of Ireland’s most instagrammable hotels.

The Montenotte has also launched a new all-day Terrace Snacks and Drinks Menu, which includes delicious treats like ‘A taste of the English Market’ charcuterie board, prosciutto and parmesan pastry straws, truffle skin on fries, crispy duck spring rolls, and Korean chicken bao buns, along with dessert options, and an Irish cheese plate.  You can also enjoy a variety of drinks from morning coffee to the hotel’s award-winning cocktails and an impressive whiskey selection.

General Manager at the hotel Brian Bowler said “This summer more than ever, outdoor space is a big consideration for social meet-ups.  We are proud to have unrivalled al fresco dining options for a city hotel and are thrilled to welcome people back with an exciting new Panorama Terrace and menu to discover.”

After lunch or cocktails, you can wander around The Montenotte’s sunken Victorian Gardens, where your body and mind will truly relax as you enjoy the aromatic scents of lavender, myrtle and rosemary, and the soothing sounds of their water fountain.  The hotel’s proud heritage as a grand home to the merchant princes of Cork over 100 years ago was reaffirmed when the gardens were recently re-discovered.  Overgrowth had hidden the wonder of this secret garden and it has now been restored to its former glory.

The Montenotte was also awarded as Best Boutique Hotel by the Irish Hotel Awards last week.
