The fourth annual Blossom Tree Ball hosted by Pippa O’Connor Ormond was held on Saturday night at the InterContinental Hotel, Dublin. The evening began with a Veuve Clicquot Champagne and istil38 cocktail reception, after which guests enjoyed a delicious four-course gourmet dinner with wines. As guests entered the ballroom, they were serenaded by top London act The Function Band who kept guests dancing until late in the night. The charismatic Brian Ormond was the MC for the evening with Barry Murphy on hand to conduct the auction. The evening started off with a ‘pop’ and guests who bought balloons were in with a chance to win a beautiful diamond necklace from Paul Sheeran worth €7,500.

International singer and songwriter Calum Scott made a surprise appearance and wowed the audience with his chart-topping hits.

ISPCC is here 24/7 for every child and young person who needs support. Their dedicated team of staff and volunteers hear from countless children and young people every day who reach out to them for help. They tell the ISPCC about abuse and neglect and the devastation these have on their lives. They tell them about their concerns through the 24/7 Childline listening service, through their therapeutic services and through their community resilience and anti-bullying programmes. ISPCC has no fear about exposing harsh truths about childhood in Ireland and their statistics provide a snapshot of the trauma faced by some children and young people. The ISPCC provide a listening ear to those children and young people who need support. They don’t judge them or tell them what to do but listen to them and help them find the next best step for them. It costs €12k a day to ensure that Childline’s 24/7 listening service can operate. Children and young people can contact ISPCC for free and in confidence about anything or any issue that might be on their minds.

Guests who attended on the night included Arthur Gourounlian, Brian Dowling, Nadia Forde, Louise Cooney, and Dave and Ursula Fanning. All monies raised from The Blossom Tree Ball will play a vital role in helping Childline achieve their fundraising goals.
