FROM BALLYCOTTON TO CORK CITY: THE SALTY DOG OFFICIALLY OPENS ON MACCURTAIN STREET

The Salty Dog has officially opened its new Cork City location at 45 MacCurtain Street, marking another chapter for the East Cork hospitality brand.

The new venue celebrated its Grand Opening on Thursday, 17 September, welcoming guests to the restaurant and bar in the heart of Cork’s Victorian Quarter.

Building on The Salty Dog’s established home in Ballycotton, the Cork City venue brings the same relaxed approach to hospitality into the city, combining food, drinks and a lively atmosphere in one of Cork’s best-known hospitality districts.

Oliver Falter, Managing Director of Flynn Cush Hospitality Group, said: “We’re incredibly excited to finally have The Salty Dog in Cork City. MacCurtain Street has such a great energy and has become a fantastic destination for food and hospitality in Cork. We wanted to bring some of the personality and atmosphere people know from Ballycotton into the city, while creating something that has its own identity as well.”

The venue is also introducing a new Saturday night programme, with a DJ playing every Saturday from 7pm to 10pm, bringing house music and a more upbeat weekend atmosphere to the restaurant and bar.

“We want Saturday evenings to develop naturally from dinner and drinks into a great night out,” Oliver added. “Good food, a few drinks, good music and a great atmosphere – without trying to turn the restaurant into a nightclub.”

The Cork opening forms part of the continued development of Flynn Cush Hospitality Group and follows the growth of its hospitality businesses across Cork.
