Hiromi Ueda has rapidly established herself as an internationally renowned make-up artist. Hiromi Ueda’s versatile work draws inspiration from both her native country of Japan and her current home, London, where she has resided for the better part of two decades. This duality permeates and informs her work, from vibrant pop-inspired designs to natural and fresh looks. Ueda was born in Osaka, Japan, and relocated to the United Kingdom at the age of 23, after falling in love with London during a year studying English and Literature abroad. However, after witnessing a fashion show from backstage, she realized her passion was for beauty, and soon after, enrolled in a make-up program at Westminster College. She went on to assist the likes of Alex Box, Diane Kendal, and Petros Petrohilos. One of her first breakthrough moments came in 2015, when she was given the opportunity to collaborate with legendary photographer David Sims, for an Arena Homme + editorial.

Since then, her charisma has made her a leading international make-up artist, and she has collaborated with some of the world’s top photographers, continuing to work with David Sims, as well as Paolo Roversi, Craig McDean, Karim Sadli, Lachlan Bailey, Sølve Sundsbø, Alasdair McLellan, Collier Schorr, Rafael Pavarotti, Carlijn Jacobs, and Johnny Dufort to name a few. Her work can be regularly found in publications such as Italian, British, and French Vogue, i-D, Dazed, AnOther, and Mastermind.
