New Rénergie H.P.N. 300-Peptide cream reinvents the formulation of peptides. These active ingredients are well known for their key role in skin regeneration. While most peptides used in cosmetic products are synthetic and limited in numbers; none of them can possibly recreate the efficacy of peptides existing in nature or human skin. An exceptional never-reached-before number and variety of peptides is finally formulated within our Rénergie cream: more than 300 peptides, three hundred new ways to harness regeneration.
THE REGENERATIVE POWERS OF PEPTIDES FROM SEEDS TO SKIN
With the launch of Rénergie H.P.N. 300-Peptide Cream, Lancôme sheds new light on the regenerative powers of peptides. Peptides are the building blocks of life as they are made of a variety of amino acids and their association creates an endless amount of peptide combinations, all with different capacities. Well known to act on all the layers of the skin: the epidermis, the dermal epidermal junction, and the dermis1, peptides are your skin’s best allies against the visible signs of aging.
Lancôme has identified three plants rich in proteins: Linseed, Lupine and Pea.
To extract the peptides locked within the complex structure of these plants, we used a lean transformation process with 3 simple steps. First, the seeds are crushed into powder or paste. Then, the mixture is hydrolysed to generate peptides. The third and last step consists of purifying the peptides to keep the most interesting ones.
From thousands of peptide fractions, we identified more than three hundred that harbor the powers of regenerative sciences. In order to decipher those specific peptides and understand what their impact on the skin could be, we partnered with international scientists from universities and start-ups who are experts in quantification, identification and analysis of molecular networks. We were able to identify more than 300 peptides linked to the skin proteome.

Peptides have 3 types of functions:
1. Carrier peptides: can deliver minerals to the skin to boost collagen, elastin and other structural proteins that make the skin appear firmer and fuller.
2. Inhibitor peptides: work by decelerating the body’s natural process whereby collagen is lost. They may also help prevent pigmentation.
3. Signal peptides: send messages to different parts of the skin to promote regeneration.
THE PROVEN EFFICACY OF THE 300-PEPTIDE COMBINATION
In addition to the breakthrough characterization of peptides contained in different plant extracts, our Laboratories also conducted in-vitro testing on reconstructed skin models. Significant results were proven on epidermal thickness, re-epithelization and extracellular matrix proteins.
1. At the epidermis level: Rénergie peptides accelerate epidermal cell migration, which is an important component of skin regeneration. This action is typical of signaling peptides which are known to send messages to different parts of the skin to promote regeneration.

2. At the dermal-epidermal junction: Carrier and inhibitor peptides increase Laminin 332 and Collagen IV, both known to preserve skin’s integrity while strengthening its structural cohesion, for a better resistance to external stresses.
3. At the dermal level: Peptides increase Collagen I and III and inhibit the degradation of elastic fibers. Laminin, Collagen and Elastin are known to make the skin appear firmer and fuller. These actions are typical of carrier and inhibitor peptides which are known to act on the structure of the skin.
