Our Hair and Beauty Oscars ( Tia Maria Hair and Beauty awards 2022) are happening in under a month and we are so excited. It would be remiss of us not to showcase some of our favourte looks from hair and make up to gowns and accessories from the 94th annual Academy Awards . One of the things we love about the Oscars is that there isn’t a theme and unlike the MET , its more glam than gorey.. make of that what you will (not Smith). There was a lot of red ( Chris De Burgh would be proud) and a lot of black and bling. Mostly it was high glamour with Tinseltowns elite making the red carpet look like home.

INSPIRATION: “My inspiration for the makeup was the Elie Saab futuristic minidress. It was seductive and fun and inspired me to pair it with a dramatic black eyeliner, fresh skin, and a nude lip.” – Genevieve Herr for Lancôme

FACE:

  • Genevieve started by applying Lancôme Prep & Hydrate Primer all over Amanda’s face, which is an important step to hydrate and prepare the skin for foundation application
  • Next, she applied Lancôme Teint Idôle Ultra Wear Foundation Stick and used a lighter shade as concealer where needed
  • Genevieve used a touch of Lancôme Blush Subtil in Sheer Amourose on the apples of the cheeks for a hint of color and warmth

 

EYES: 

  • For the eyes, Genevieve used Lancôme Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in French Nude to define and add depth with the light brown eyeshadow color in the crease and a touch of the lightest shade in the inner corners
  • Genevieve lined Amanda’s upper lash line with Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony, using it as a guide for the liquid liner
  • Hero product of the look was the Lancôme Artliner Precision Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner that was used to create the winged liner. She went a bit thick to ensure the eye popped and then did a little flick at the end to keep it sexy and fun
  • Genevieve curled Amanda’s lashes and applied Lancôme Grandiôse Extreme Mascara for extra volume and lift to the top lashes only

 

LIPS:

  • To finish the look, Genevieve lined Amanda’s lips with Lancôme Le Lip Liner in Fraichelle and then applied Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Cream Lipstick in Merci Simone

EYES

  • Apply Lancôme Prime It Boost It all over the eyelid to prime the lid for long-wear
  • Apply Lancôme Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in Terre de Sienne on the lids
  • Line the top and bottom lash line with Lancôme Drama Liquid Pencil in French Chocolate
  • Trace over top lash line with Lancôme Idôle Liner and create a defined feline flick
  • Finish off the eyes with a few coats of Lancôme Lash Idôle Mascara for voluminous, defined lashes

 

LIPS

  • Finish the look with Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick in Mademoiselle Penélope for the perfect pink pout

On the red carpet, Jada Pinkett Smith was seen in Jean Paul Gaultier’s gown which featured a high neck, ruched bodice, and statement ruffled skirt. Her make up was glowy and flawless and her open toe shoes only barely visible under the gown. Will Smith went for Dolce & Gabbana Made to Measure black mohair wool tuxedo. This was of course before the drama.

Olivia Coleman wore a stunning high neck Dior gown. The pleated detail and voluminous sleeves look so chic with her simple upstyle.

Serena Williams sported a sleek bob and wore a pink plunging Gucci gown with a seductive thigh split. Lace gloves and some blingy jewels on her fingers is just enough. We adore the lace embellishment.

Zendaya – Wearing Valentino, this look is modern, blingy and quite simply fabulous. The bangles and shirt are the most perfect look. The train is classic Hollywood.

There has never been a Jessica Chastain look I haven’t adored and this one from Gucci is no exception. The rose gold and lilac pairing is one we are bound to see again soon and she would win my Best Dressed if I am honest.

Lupita Nyong’o positively gleamed during the big night in a Klimt-worthy gold Prada gown. Too much bling? Never !She even added some stand-out gems from De Beers.

Kirsten Dunst made some waves in a red Lacroix gown wth no neck piece needed with the fine detail of the dress. She did bling it with with some Fred Leighton jewels. We adore her blush and brows.

Molly Sims wore a rich ruby hue for her flowing Elie Saab gown. The elegant ruching adds to the gown and her  simple ustyle is pure elegance paired with Rahaminov Diamonds rings

Simu Liu- The Canadian actor brightened things up in a red tuxedo. He paired his look with a black bow tie, black loafers,no socks  and an Omega timepiece.

 

 

Rita Moreno walked the red carpet wearing a black, exposed shoulder Carolina Herrera gown with a ruffled neckline, black shoes with gem-studded buckles, and jewelry by Verdura. Her feathee headpiece was by Saulo Villela for Adrienne Landau. 

For me the stand our moment of the night was Lady Gaga and Liza Minelli presentation of best flim. Name a more iconic duo? We know, there isn’t one.
