In a world where beauty trends change faster than ever, is it time to rethink permanent brows?
Thérapie Clinic is giving clients the option to rethink old microblading and semi-permanent brow decisions with the launch of its new Eyebrow Tattoo Removal treatment.
If there is one beauty feature that has been through almost every possible reinvention, it’s the eyebrow. We’ve plucked them, filled them in, carved them out, brushed them upwards, laminated them and, for many, microbladed them to within an inch of their lives, all in pursuit of whatever the “perfect brow” happened to look like at the time.
The only problem? Brow trends can change far faster than the pigment underneath them. Now, Thérapie Clinic, Europe’s number one medical aesthetics clinic group, has launched Eyebrow Tattoo Removal, giving clients the option to leave an old brow look behind.
When we look back to the mid-2010s, bigger was most definitely better. Brows were bold, dark, sharply defined and carefully sculpted. Then came microblading, followed by fluffy brows, soap brows and lamination. Today, softer, lighter, sharper and straighter shapes are gaining momentum, proving once again that the brow we want now might look very different to the one we wanted a year ago, let alone five. For anyone whose brows no longer suit their style, Thérapie Clinic’s new treatment can be used to fade microblading, ombré brows, powder brows, combination brows and faded or uneven pigment.
Powered by Cynosure PicoWay, the treatment uses ultra-fast picosecond laser technology to break tattoo pigment into tiny particles, which are then gradually cleared by the body. Rather than relying primarily on heat, the technology creates a photoacoustic effect to target the pigment while minimising disruption to the surrounding skin and brow hair follicles.
And, much like getting the brows in the first place, removing the pigment is not an overnight process. Clients will typically require three to six sessions, spaced approximately six to eight weeks apart, with the pigment gradually fading throughout the course of treatment. Sessions take approximately 15–30 minutes, and the exact treatment plan will depend on the individual and the pigment being treated.
Kerri Ann Grant, Skin Specialist at Thérapie Clinic, says:
“Brows are such a personal feature, and what someone wanted when they first had microblading or semi-permanent brows done might not be what they want several years later. We’re seeing clients who simply want the option to soften or fade an old shape or pigment and start again.
With PicoWay, we can gradually break down that unwanted pigment over a course of treatments. How the pigment responds can vary from person to person, so we always start with a consultation to assess the brows, understand what the client wants to achieve and recommend the most appropriate treatment plan. The treatment is very much designed to get brows back to basics, helping clients return to a more natural look and feel without damaging follicles and the potential for healthy regrowth.”
The launch comes as brow trends continue to move in different directions, from softer, straighter shapes and thinner arches to bleached and brushed-up brows. Rather than one dominant look taking over, the focus is increasingly on finding the shape and style that works for you.
